Easy or Hard

“Why did you reject Tony Banker’s offer?” Annie demanded an answer from her best friend of 20 years over their weekly routined breakfast while scanning the menu for something different.

Nodding and shrugging her shoulders while reading the menu, Janet said, “It’s too easy.”

“Did you forget to take your smart pill this morning?” Annie teased “His Investment firm is the most successful in the country. It’s an opportunity that won’t rebound.”

“I don’t like easy, you know that,” Janet reminded her.

“You really didn’t take your smart pill this morning.”

“You know me,” Janet said, “I learn nothing from EASY. HARD gives me the strength to … survive, EASY doesn’t.”

“You are too superstitious,” Annie remarked.

Six months later Tony Banker committed suicide. His business deals were a sham. He was running a Ponzi scheme and the FBI was closing in. He owed hundreds of millions to his clients.

“How did you know?” Annie asked, shocked.

“I didn’t, I just know that for my life, … ‘Hardship first for strength. Problems always follow EASY’.” Who wanted to hand you your dream on a platter? Who or what made you refuse and … make the right choice. Tag and Thank them today. (Annelise Lords)
