Nietzsche would likely see Trump’s rise as representing much of what he despised about modern society and politics. Nietzsche was extremely critical of mass society, referring to the general population as a “herd” with slave morality. He saw democratic ideals like equality as antithetical to human excellence and catering to the lowest common denominator.
