I recommend every seeking summer job, start hunting from December to January. I like to plan ahead.

We arrived too late. Most businesses we contacted had filled positions or wanted him to start work toward the middle or end of August which is when we were returning home. We both learned a lot through this job-hunting process; so not all was lost.
