In my culture, ‘acceptance’ is limited to our knowledge of life and the things we want. Yes, it sounds crazy, and it’s my opinion because I see poverty that is over 100 years old and I am not that old. Many of these people have accepted their lives and is continuing the cycle of poverty started by their ancestors more than 100 years ago. Many don’t even know they are poor, because they just accepted the life they are living without the knowledge of a better one. We have a saying, ‘those who know better, do better.’ Those words don’t always go on the straight and narrow path. Acceptance must be friends with Knowledge, or else our lives will keep going in circles.
