Is Diabetes is a Life-Style Disease?

I saw a friend yesterday that I haven’t seen in more than ten years. She looked so sick and was crawling on her feet. Turns out she had kidney failure due to her diabetes. She wasn’t even fifty years old yet.

I had to ask, “but diabetes is a lifestyle disease, and it doesn’t run in your family?”

“I went to the doctor and he said I had Stage 4 diabetes,” she casually disclosed in regret.

“But diabetes has symptoms, weren’t you listening to your body when it was screaming out for help?” my anger spoke.

Our bodies speak to us when something isn’t going right. It speaks through pain mostly because the symptoms for every disease are different. The symptoms of diabetes are:

A) Excessive thirst and hunger

B) Frequent urination

C) Weight loss or gain

D) Fatigue

E) Irritability

F) Blurred vision

G) Slow-healing wounds

H) Nausea

Our bodies are wonderful vessels that speak to us, it warns us when things aren’t going right. Isn’t that wonderful to have someone telling you how to save and help yourself? Our bodies are like a fortune teller, a gypsy, a psychic, our mothers and fathers too. We…
