“I’m tired Stella,” Suzie complained to her best friend over lunch. “I am tired of life and living.”

“Why?” Stella asked concerned, putting the menus on the table, signaling the waiter to go, then taking Suzie’s hand from across the table.

Suzie ranted, “Everywhere I turn there is a crisis, a problem, an obstacle. I can’t fight life anymore.”

“Honey, life is about fighting,” Stella consoled.

“But not for you. Nothing like that happens to you. Why not?” Suzie wondered staring into her friend’s eyes.

Stella sighed and relate, “I have had such a hard life, all I know how to do is fight. So, I can’t afford to follow my life.”

“So, you are saying that I follow my life where ever it takes me?” distraught Suzie wondered.

“I think so, and that is how many of us lose control of it. I only have one person to rely on when I am in trouble. Me…” Stella said.

Suzie stared at her, then released, “So, I have someone to rely on?”

“Hon, you have a clan that you can rely on. So, you never got a chance to know if you can rely on you. I must take charge. I must plan, I don’t have the choice to wait for life to happen.
