Papa also liked to eat chicken and dressing, roast beef, and sardines. Since he didn’t have teeth, he cut up his food with a three-inch blade sharp knife carried in a sheath in his back pocket hooked to his belt. His “eatin’ knife.” I never found out why he didn’t have any teeth. Mama said he had a set of false teeth, but he never put them in.
