Jacob Tooley fought in two wars and went on five tours. When he returned to the US, he was met with hostility and bigotry. Realizing he felt more peaceful and freer in lands far from his home, Jacob decided to retire from military service. He felt remorse for the people who treated him with profane disrespect.
