Surviving To Live
Tempest Micro-Fiction 100 Word Story
Someone wise said, ‘animals are lucky, they are not held by morals, ethics or standards, but humans are.’
Mama lived by none of those. She lacked humanity. Animals take care of their young. Are they more humans than us? How come they have humanity and Mama don’t?
My mind escaped to Sheila, Miss Patsy’s mongrel dog that gave birth to eight pups last month. Sheila took care of all eight pups, alone. She took the time to feed, bathe, protect, and played with them.
Right now, I need one parent that cares. Would Sister Mary accept Sheila as my mother?
Thank you for reading this piece. I hope you enjoyed it.
This is an exert from one of my books entitled Surviving To Live.
