“Why didn’t you enter the contest?” Alice badgered her twin sister. “Your work is

great and I am sure you would win,” she encouraged.

Alina nodded and revealed, “I don’t like the rules, so I won’t play the game.”

“Nonsense,” Alice scolded her sister.

“You think so?” her twin asked eyeballing her.

“But you would win?” Alice insisted.

“Really sister dearest, how can I win, but give up the rights to my own creation?”

Here.” Alina said to her sister. “This is a copy of their rules.”

Alice took the sheets of paper from her sister and read it. Then exclaimed in shock, “first prize is $1500.00, but they will use your design for one year without giving you credit or acknowledgment! But that’s. . .. that’s illegal!” Alice uttered.

“You don’t like the rules don’t play the game!” Her sister cautioned her.

Are we winners when we win but lose the rights to whatever we create?
