Tag & Thank
At the funeral of a family member, I was shocked at some of the things the pastor was saying about the deceased. I had to get up in the middle of the sermon and went back to double-check the casket, to make sure he was talking about the same person laying there. He was. I turned facing the surprised congregation. A mixture of emotions rained on their faces, but one emotion rained harder. Forgiveness! Sitting down, I wondered, ‘Why is it that we find it more convenient to forgive the dead, that left us with pain, debt, unfinished business and robbed us of closure. Than the living, where there is hope, a chance of closure and happiness. Who forgave you today? Last week? Last month? Last year? Five years ago? Who forgave you, allowing you the gift of closure and a chance at more happiness and peace of mind? Tag and thank your forgiver today.
