Christina Morsetty was raised by racist parents. At 93 years old, she needed a caregiver. She demanded caregivers from her race only. There weren’t many. After six months, 22 different caregivers, and three different agencies, the third agency told her family to move on.
Her racist son, implanted an idea in her head, “Mom, try an African American one, some of them are still in mental slavery, so she might think you are her master.” Tina, as she is lovingly called, liked the idea. All the kindness, patience and love she received from Yvette Joseph an African American caregiver, melted the hatred that she held onto all her life. 93 days later on her death bed, her family wondered why she wanted to see Yvette. With all of them gathered around her, she confessed, “Forgive me child, I was raised to believe that love was only white. Thank you for showing me the many colors of love. I just wished I knew when I could do something about it. Thank you.” Christina Morsetty died. Hatred is such a powerful emotion, that to conquer it, love has to approach it in disguise. Tag and thank the one who showed you the many colors of love, life, and living, in time for you to make a change.
