That's how I do it too.

We are currently under a winter storm warning but when we got up at 4:30am, it didn’t look too bad. So, I made my son’s lunch and he left home by 5am. He had 2 hours to make a 55-mile trip. He had plenty of buffer time in case there was a traffic build-up. He’d be super early for work but that was okay.

That's how I do it too. When traveling I encourage planning ahead and giving themselves time incase something happens.
