This is emotional and verbal abuse.

For the rest of the year, Miss Landry scowled at me every chance she got and never gave me higher than a ”C” on my beautifully done maps. I hoped her attitude would change, but it didn’t. She never called on me in class no matter how many times I raised my hand. I kept myself going by imagining how great it would be to get out of her class. At home, I had my family and the comfort of our Airedale dogs — Emily and Scampy — along with our goats. Those animals were my therapy.
