This is not a depressing story. It makes sense and makes the storying more interesting. Conflicts is what makes it good. The phone part, it happens in my country. I like that part. That's why I tell my children to study your world, or else you will never survive in it. I know not to walk with an expensive phone in my hand or visible on the streets in my country.
