Those days are hone and ain't coming back. Sad though.

Every mom on the block was a “surrogate mom” in my neighborhood. If they told you to do something, you did it, period. All the moms looked after everyone else’s child that was in or near their home. It was just what neighbors did back then. I don’t ever remember feeling unsafe in my neighborhood.
