Oh yes, many of us do. My mother was the cruel one. She gave my father hell and he ran and left all six of us children to face her wrath, and she gave it to us every chance she gets. In my culture, the emotional state of children is never under consideration. I #intend2survive and I have. I did the opposite of everything she did. Let the painful memories go and make sure your children never had to go through that hell you went through. My sister is over fifty years old and the pain of her childhood is still with her. I turn that hatred into love and I showered it on my children and every child I meet and know. I give love and kindness to everyone and put it in everything I do. My children are grateful for the sacrifices my husband and I made for them. Let the pain go, it will destroy you from the inside. Don’t let hate win.
