What Is The Cure For Cruelty?

“Oh, come on, Sandy, you have been a doctor longer than you have been anything else.” Dr. Bennett consoles his colleague. “Nothing should surprise you anymore.”

Staring at him, Dr. Sandra O’Hara clasped her hands and rested both on the lunch table, her thoughts miles away. Wiping the tears away, she shares, pulling her thoughts back to the moment, “he is only twenty-two years old. He said I have denied him the right to die.”

“Death is standard for all doctors.”

“He also said, COVID 19 was cruel, but humanity is more brutal than all of the terrible diseases and viruses that have afflicted us.”

“My God!” flew out of Dr. Bennet’s mouth. “What happened to that young man.”

“Something horrible,” Dr. O’Hara said.

“He is right, you know,” Dr. Bennett defends.

“How?”

“We have cures for many diseases and viruses. We have medications and natural remedies that will help to prolong lives and heal us. We also have vaccines to prevent many infectious diseases. What is the cure for the cruelty of humanity?”
